Spring Fieldwork Showcase
Sunday, May 6, 5 p.m.
Emory University Schwartz Center Dance Studio
$7 at the door, cash/check only
Runyon will premiere her new dance/puppetry piece, "river, moon / wonder cover." Including a paper garland, a dancer puppet, a silver moon and magic shoes, this piece explores the primal question of "what lies within," revealing the child inside the adult, the passionate woman inside a long dark cloak, and other surprises...
This performance is part of Fieldwork Showcase, which provides artists of different disciplines the opportunity to try out new work with structured feedback. Other participating artists are Dancing Flowers for Peace, Sharon Mathis, Ann Ritter and Shannon Turner, who will present theatre, dance and storytelling works. Audience members will have an opportunity to participate in the feedback process, and a reception will follow.
Note: Parking is free but sometimes crowded at the Fishburne Deck (on N. Decatur Road) on Sunday afternoons, so come early!
